Understanding the Diagnosis and Root Causes
When we arrive, our first step is always diagnosis. We'll measure the differential temperature between your flow and return pipes, check your pump speed settings, and assess any system bypass arrangements. We also look at how your flow temperature is configured. Short cycling means the boiler is reaching its set temperature almost instantly, usually because the heat it generates can't be absorbed effectively by the system. This can be due to an oversized boiler, restricted flow, or incorrect settings. The immediate fix often costs nothing more than a proper re-commissioning.
- Oversized boiler for your property's heat loss
- Restricted flow from blockages or sludge
- Pump speed too low to circulate heat
- Thermostatic valves closing off circulation
- Flow temperature set excessively high
