Identifying and Classifying Safety Defects
Before any new boiler installation, the existing appliance undergoes a thorough safety check. We classify any issues found according to Gas Safe standards: 'Immediately Dangerous' (ID) or 'At Risk' (AR). An 'Immediately Dangerous' classification means the boiler poses an immediate threat to life or property, such as significant carbon monoxide leakage. In such cases, we are legally obliged to disconnect (cap off) the gas supply to the appliance without delay. 'At Risk' means the appliance has defects that could cause danger in the future, like minor leaks or incorrect installations, but doesn't pose an immediate threat. These also require attention.
- Immediate Dangerous (ID) defects require capping.
- At Risk (AR) defects need repair or replacement.
- Safety check prioritised before replacement.
