The Decision: Where People Go Wrong
Many homeowners, particularly those with a growing family or planning extensions, often under-estimate future hot water demand. The biggest mistake we hear about is fitting a combi boiler only to find it struggles when more than one shower runs simultaneously. A combi provides unlimited hot water but at a limited flow rate. If you have, or plan to have, a second bathroom or an en-suite, particularly in a property that might originally only have had one bathroom, a combi can quickly become frustrating. The idea of saving space is appealing, but the compromise on flow rate when capacity is needed is a common regret.
- Underestimating future hot water demand
- Ignoring simultaneous shower use
- Prioritising space over performance
