The Diagnostic Sequence: Pinpointing the Fault
Our first step is always to verify the demand signal directly. We start at the thermostat itself, checking for power and functionality. For wireless stats, this includes battery integrity and RF pairing. Next, we move to the wiring centre, which acts as the central hub for your heating controls. Here, we test if the demand signal from the thermostat is actually arriving. Finally, we check at the boiler terminals to see if it's receiving that demand. This logical progression – from the point of demand, through the controls, to the appliance – tells us in minutes whether the fault is with your controls, the wiring, or if it genuinely is the boiler.
- Test thermostat demand signal
- Verify signal at wiring centre
- Check boiler demand input
- Rule out wiring issues
- Isolate control component failure
