The Typical Parts Driving Ignition Lockout Repair Costs
The primary components involved in an ignition lockout are generally confined to the ignition and flame-sensing system. The ignitor or flame-sense electrode is a common culprit; it gets dirty or wears down over time, failing to generate a spark or detect the flame. Replacing this is usually a relatively quick job. Less common, but still a possibility, is a failed ignition lead or the spark generator itself. These parts require careful testing and replacement, adding to the labour time. If the issue is a gas supply problem, such as a faulty meter or valve, the repair might extend beyond boiler components. In older Atherton properties, a blockage in the condensate pipe can also cause a secondary lockout, though this often manifests differently first.
