Identifying 'Immediately Dangerous' (ID) Defects
An Immediately Dangerous (ID) defect means there is an immediate danger to life or property if the appliance is used. This could be a significant gas leak, extreme carbon monoxide spillage, or a flue that's completely blocked. As Brogas, a Gas Safe registered business, our legal and moral obligation is to immediately disconnect and cap off the gas supply to that appliance, or to the entire property if the defect affects multiple appliances or the whole system. This action is not negotiable; it’s taken to prevent harm. We will then issue a warning notice detailing the ID finding. You, as the landlord, are then responsible for arranging the necessary repairs.
